Here's your chance to get, if not the, one of the rarest and most beautiful BMWs ever made and which ironically, as Jalopnik's Raphael Orlove put it, wasn't even really a BMW.
It's the BMW-Glas 3000 V8 Fastback by Frua and it's heading to Sotherby's Villa Erba sale that will take place on the shores of Lake Como, Italy, on May 23, 2015.
Glas was a small and independent German carmaker with humble beginnings that was mostly known for its tiny and cute Goggomobil before it started building the 1300GT coupe in 1964 and later the 1700GT penned by famed Italian designer and coach-builder Pietro Frua who was responsible for the Maserati A6G and is even said to had a hand in the styling of the Volvo P1800.
After running into some financial troubles, Glas was acquired by BMW in September of 1966, with the Bavarian carmaker re-branding the firm's newly developed 3000 V8 coupe, which was often referred to as the "Glaserati" due to the styling similarities to Frua's Maserati Quattroporte, as a BMW-Glas model. Only 418 BMW-Glas 3000 V8 coupes are believed to have been produced between September of 1967 and May of 1968.
Along with the regular production models, Frua also designed a number of experimental prototypes including the one-off BMW-Glas 3000 V8 Fastback you see pictured here and which was the only 3000 V8 model to sport BMW's double kidney grille. It made its debut at the 1967 Frankfurt Motor Show and at the time, it was thought that it could enter series-production as a BMW model, but the Bavarians abandoned the idea and concentrated on the E6 3.0 CS.

Manual Ferraris are always a treat in this paddle-infested world we are living in but would you pay almost $700K for a 2007 599 GTB, just because it has a gated shifter?Well, one bidder did that, paying $682.000 (about £460.000 or €645.000) for a manual 599 GTB in Amelia Island’s RM Auction, almost half a million more than the estimated $200,000 - $275,000.The car itself has covered less than 3.800 miles since its delivery from new in Portland, Oregon, making it one of the only 20 manual 599s to exist officially in the United States. Being considered as the last, analog Ferrari V12, the 599 GTB is using essentially a detuned version of the Enzo’s engine, making 620bhp at 7.600rpm with a top speed of 205mph. With a black-on-black colour combination, the 599 GTB looks menacing enough, featuring the desirable Daytona-style seats made from Recaro. Its previous owner had it properly stored in a climate-controlled environment to ensure nothing bad will happen to it during its stay with him.If you think that regular 599 GTBs with the paddle shifter go for about £100K (about $148K or €140K) in the UK and the extreme GTOs fetch around £400-500K (about $592K-740K or €560Κ-700Κ), paying that amount for a regular, manual 599 could only mean two things. Either the market will start to treat the last remaining manual Ferraris as a separate exclusive entity in their line-up, driving prices into ridiculous levels or the fortunate owner of this lovely manual 599 GTB will face a very unpleasant surprise when he decides to calculate again how much is the real cost of the car in the future. We understand the exclusivity of it, being 1 of only 20 in the United States but is this rareness really worth $700K? It’s a ‘normal’ 599 after all.
Very rare Jaguar XJ220S will be sold at auction in Arizona, and is expected to hit $ 225 and $ 300 000.
The standard model of Jaguar XJ2205 is produced in 350 units, a super rare XJ220S in only six units. Model XJ220S was produced in cooperation with the company Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR), which has eliminated most of the aluminum body and replaced by the super-light carbon fiber. The model has a front splitter, wider sills and rear adjustable spoiler, which eventually results in a more aggressive appearance of the supercar.
Number of chassis models that will be offered at auction was 784, a current owner owns it for eight years. The car initially had a V6 engine that delivered 680 hp and 712 Nm of torque, but the new TWR's titanium exhaust system and engine improvements have resulted in increased power to 700 hp.
