Audi RS Q3 Concept

Like the previous prototypes, the new RS Q3 study utilizes Audi's 2.5-liter straight-five turbocharged gasoline engine, only this time, it has been tweaked to produce 355-horses (360PS) allowing the compact SUV to pass the 100km/h (62mph) yardstick in just 5.2 seconds after take-off, en route to a top speed of 265km/h (165mph).

The RS Q3 is equipped with a seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission paired to the quattro all-wheel drive. Unlike other RS models, Audi says that the AWD system directs power almost exclusively to the front wheels and only when slip is detected, it redistribute forces to the rear axle via a hydraulic multi-plate clutch with electronic control.

The exterior styling is virtually production ready with Audi having added a new RS-style front bumper with wider openings, carbon fiber accents and a lip spoiler, a honeycomb grille, subtle wheel arch extensions and side skirts in carbon fiber, a discrete roof spoiler, and a new rear apron also made out of carbon fiber that integrates a diffuser. Carbon fiber can also be found on the exterior mirror caps.

The RS version of the Q3 rides on a 25mm (close to an inch) lowered sports suspension and new 20-inch alloy wheels in chunky 255/20 tires.

Inside, black is the dominant color with blue accent shades making their appearance on the Nappa leather sport seats, the alcantara door panels, the stiches on the leather dashboard and the decorative carbon-fiber trims on the flat-bottom steering wheel, center console and glove box cover.

Mercedes-Benz Concept Style Coupe

Mercedes-Benz's new MFA platform, which debuted on the production A-Class, underpins the CSC. The German brand's Audi A3 Sedan rival reportedly measures 4,637mm (182.6 inches) long making it 46mm (1.8 inches) longer than the current C-Class sedan.

The concept model is said to be powered by the same direct injection 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder gasoline engine used on the new A25 that is rated at 208hp (211PS).

The production CLC or CLA will be offered with a similar diesel and gasoline engine lineup to the A-Class hatchback, including a top AMG Variant fitted with a 2.0-liter turbo producing more than 320 horses and an all-wheel drive system.

Unlike the A-Class hatchback, the compact four-door coupe model will be offered in the North American market.

2013 Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG

The German carmaker has published the first official photographs of the G63 AMG on its corporate website, ahead of the SUV's world premiere at the Auto China 2012 in Beijing.

The second most powerful model in the 2013 G-Class series sports the same twin-turbocharged 5.5-litre V8 direct injection petrol engine with a start-stop system found in other AMG models like the CLS 63 AMG and SL 63 AMG.

In this application, the bi-turbo V8 delivers a maximum output of 536hp (544PS) at 5,500 rpm and a peak torque of 760Nm (560 lb-ft) between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm. It is linked to a 7-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel drive system with three electrically controlled, 100-percent differential locks.

Mercedes isn’t telling us yet how fast the G63 AMG is, but it did reveal that the G55 AMG's replacement returns an average fuel consumption of 13.8lt/100km (17mpg US or 20.5mpg UK) with CO2 emissions of 322g/km, making it the second most efficient model in the G-Class series behind the diesel powered G350 BlueTEC (11.2lt/100km or 21mpg US / 25.2mpg UK).

On the outside, the G63 AMG sports a new front bumper design with additional air ducts, a twin-bar grille, larger alloy wheels and side mounted exhaust pipes. The interior is also upgraded with bespoke instruments, carbon fiber trim, and two-tone leather seats.

Citroen Numero DS9 Details

Previously believed to be named DS9, the French study is called the Numéro 9 concept, though Citroën makes it clear that it belongs to the DS lineup.

Citroën says that the Numéro 9 introduces the more chic and premium DS lineup to Chinese consumers before the company launches its first DS products onto the market later this year.
More importantly though, Citroën states that the Numéro 9 refines the brand's design language and signals the styling cues of the next three DS line models including a C-segment premium sedan (think Audi A3 Sedan), an SUV and a D-segment (mid-size) executive saloon.

As you can see, Citroën is all hyped up about its DS line, which currently consists of the DS3 supermini, DS4 sport hatch and the larger DS5, and all for good reason as it has notched up more than 200,000 sales worldwide just two years after launch.

Citroën doesn't say if the Numéro 9 will result in a production model, but the French carmaker's executives have previously confirmed the brand's intentions to build a flagship model.

The Numéro 9 is a follow up to the impressive 2010 Metropolise concept, which was also shown in China. However, the new DS study sports a shooting brake body, while at 4.93m (194.1-inches) long and 1.94m (76.4-inches) wide, with a 3m (118.1-inches) wheelbase, it's also more compact in dimensions than the 5.3m long (208.7-inches) Metropolis. Nevertheless, it's still longer and wider than a Mercedes-Benz E-Class.

The French brand claims that it provides plenty of room for rear occupants, adding that the three glass areas in the roof creates "a welcoming, friendly cabin ambience".

Citroën tells us that we should take special note of certain design elements such as the new front-end with the sculpted, 3-dimensional grille surround that flows into the full-LED headlights, as well as the floating roof underlined by chrome trim and the glazed side surfaces flowing into the rear window, as these styling cues will appear on the next DS models.

Under the hood, Citroën says that the Numéro 9's hybrid powertrain can combine a conventional petrol or diesel engine (depending on the market) with an electric motor on the rear axle that develops 70hp and torque of 200Nm, and which has the added benefit of offering four-wheel drive.

The electric motor is powered by lithium-ion batteries that can be recharged in three and-a-half hours from a normal domestic socket providing a range of 50km (around 31miles) in all-electric ZEV (Zero Emission Vehicle) mode.

The model that will go on display at the Beijing Motor Show is fitted with a 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engine (shared with the BMW Group's Mini brand) developing 225hp (165kW) and 275Nm of torque.

Together, the combustion engine and electric motor can produce up to 295hp allowing for a 0 to 100km/h (62mph) sprint time of just 5.4 seconds and a top speed of 244km/h (152mph).
According to Citroën, if the driver makes use of the car's pure electric mode, the Numéro 9 returns up to 166mpg UK (1.7lt/100km or 138mpg US) over a combined cycle.

Needless to say, the Numéro 9 is fitted with a traditional hydraulic active suspension.
