Audi RS Q3 Concept

Like the previous prototypes, the new RS Q3 study utilizes Audi's 2.5-liter straight-five turbocharged gasoline engine, only this time, it has been tweaked to produce 355-horses (360PS) allowing the compact SUV to pass the 100km/h (62mph) yardstick in just 5.2 seconds after take-off, en route to a top speed of 265km/h (165mph).

The RS Q3 is equipped with a seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission paired to the quattro all-wheel drive. Unlike other RS models, Audi says that the AWD system directs power almost exclusively to the front wheels and only when slip is detected, it redistribute forces to the rear axle via a hydraulic multi-plate clutch with electronic control.

The exterior styling is virtually production ready with Audi having added a new RS-style front bumper with wider openings, carbon fiber accents and a lip spoiler, a honeycomb grille, subtle wheel arch extensions and side skirts in carbon fiber, a discrete roof spoiler, and a new rear apron also made out of carbon fiber that integrates a diffuser. Carbon fiber can also be found on the exterior mirror caps.

The RS version of the Q3 rides on a 25mm (close to an inch) lowered sports suspension and new 20-inch alloy wheels in chunky 255/20 tires.

Inside, black is the dominant color with blue accent shades making their appearance on the Nappa leather sport seats, the alcantara door panels, the stiches on the leather dashboard and the decorative carbon-fiber trims on the flat-bottom steering wheel, center console and glove box cover.
